Maintaining Healthy Feet

healthy-feetTo maintain healthy feet you need to

  • regularly inspect your feet – look for changes in colour, texture and appearance
  • maintain good foot hygiene, wash and dry between your toes
  • do not ignore foot pain – seek advice
  • cut nails straight across – never cut into the corner this can cause an ingrown toe nail – file away sharp corners with an emery board
  • hydrate your skin regularly – use cream on a regular basis
  • buy correct size shoes
  • exercise – it’s an excellent conditioner for feet
  • avoid walking barefoot to help protect your feet from injury or infection
  • alternate shoes – shoes will absorb moisture from your feet – so it’s important to allow your shoes to dry out completely
