Podiatry – Methods of Treatment
Our podiatrists use a range of methods to treat conditions of the feet and lower limbs. With access to professional instruments and tools, treatment of skin and nail conditions such as corns, calluses and ingrown toenails are relatively painless, and non invasive and provide immediate relief.
In case of severe in-growing toenails a simple nail surgery under local anesthetic is sometimes performed.
In some cases mild acids are used to treat skin conditions such as warts. Cryotheraphy or freezing of warts is also sometimes used.
Soft tissue injuries and structural problems often respond to a simple rehabilitation program including stretches, rest, massage and tapings.
Sometimes more complex problems are treated with orthotics. Orthotics are devices that realign the feet into normal position and allow joints and soft tissues to function at their optimum level.
